Meet Judy Pannullo
Hi, thanks so much
for visiting. It is such a pleasure to be working with so
many wonderful people that do such amazing work. The Council's
member agencies are so committed to the really critical work
that is so desperately needed for our County's most vulnerable
population. I am touched daily by their caring hard work.
An extra special bonus
to this work is the fabulous staff that we have. Their professionalism
and willingness to work hard has always been strongly evident
and their loyalty is outstanding. Call Donna, Janet, Lyn or
Ruth anytime and I am sure you will agree!
With a background in
community organizing and advocacy, what could be better than
advocating for the much-needed social services that are provided
every day by such caring people? Our advocacy work with the
County Legislature has proved successful as we continue to
advocate for adequate funds to the agencies that contract
with the County, and the 2008 budget includes some small increases
to contract agencies. And our "Smart Contracting"
work of analyzing and advocating for a speedier process will
lead to a much quicker turn around time for this year's contracts.
We will continue to make this our highest priority as we look
at future County budgets and the very real threat of further
cuts. Be sure to become involved and have your voice
heard. And be sure to keep an eye on our website for
legislative and action alerts!
We have added some
exciting new programs, Accessible Long Island, our cutting
edge project that increases accessibility for all Long Islanders,
our Network of Women with Disabilities (advocating on behalf
of women with disabilities), our Community Service Registry
(lists all volunteers and volunteer opportunities in one place),
and our Unity project which is our humanitarian project working
with the day laborers in Brentwood and connecting them to
the available services they many need. Be sure to keep
a careful eye out for our eblasts giving you all the details!
And there will be more programs coming soon!
We are your eyes and
ears for what happens in Suffolk County. We continue to monitor
the County Legislature as well as any legislation that affects
us here in Suffolk County from the State and Federal levels.
Call me anytime for
any updates, questions, or especially suggestions of ways
that we can serve you better. You can reach me at 631-434-9277.
I know we'll find something in common and together we'll find
a way to make Suffolk County a better place to work and live.
Thanks for visiting!
